Ford Super Duty Pickups for Heavy Work Around St. Louis
Super Duty buyers usually show up knowing what they need to pull: a fifth wheel, a gooseneck stock trailer, a skid steer, or a boat that outgrew the half ton. This page helps St. Louis truck shoppers sort F-250, F-350 and F-450 pickups by engine, wheel setup and trim, then check live pricing in the inventory above. Dave Sinclair Ford sells to contractors, farmers and weekend campers alike, and our Super Duty comparison page lays out the specs in more depth.
Ford Super Duty Trims and Packages Side by Side
| Trim | What stands out |
|---|---|
| XL | Work focused foundation, ideal for fleets and upfits, gas or diesel |
| XLT | More comfort and convenience for crews who live in the cab all day |
| Lariat | Leather trimmed seating, upgraded tech, Pro Trailer Hitch Assist available |
| King Ranch | Western themed leather and trim with a strong list of standard features |
| Platinum | Premium cabin; Platinum Plus package adds Pro Power Onboard |
| Tremor Off-Road Package | Off road tuned suspension, all terrain tires and trail drive modes on select builds |
Every trim can be built as an F-250, F-350 or F-450 pickup, and the engine, axle and wheel setup decide how much it can really handle. If you do not see the right combination in stock, we can order one built to your spec.

Ford Super Duty Pricing for Personal and Commercial Buyers
Super Duty MSRP swings widely by model, cab, bed, engine and packages, and a diesel or dual rear wheel truck prices very differently than a gas XL. Start with the live prices above, then check new Ford specials, Ford X Plan, and military or first responder programs. We finance and lease through Ford Credit and other lenders.
Buying for a business? Our commercial and fleet team handles Ford Pro pricing, chassis cab orders and upfits through Sinclair Customs. And if your trailer is lighter than you thought, the Ford F-150 may save you money without giving up capability you will actually use.

Ford Super Duty Questions From St. Louis Truck Shoppers
What is the difference between an F-250 and an F-350?
Both share the same cab, interior and engine choices. The F-250 comes only with single rear wheels and suits most fifth wheel campers, boat trailers and work trailers. The F-350 adds higher ratings and is offered with single or dual rear wheels, so it is the step up for heavier gooseneck and fifth wheel loads. The F-450 pickup comes only with dual rear wheels.
Should I get a gas Super Duty or the Power Stroke diesel?
Gas V8s cost less up front, are simpler to maintain and make sense for plowing, local hauling or occasional towing. The 6.7L Power Stroke turbo diesel, offered in standard and High Output versions, is the pick for frequent heavy towing, long grades and high mileage use. Think about how often the trailer is hooked up and how far you go, then we can price both.
How do I figure out Super Duty towing for a fifth wheel or gooseneck?
Super Duty ratings depend on the model, engine, cab, bed, axle ratio, single or dual rear wheels and the tow package. Fifth wheel and gooseneck ratings run higher than a bumper pull, but only with the right hitch equipment. Check the door jamb label, Ford’s towing guide and the window sticker, or give us your trailer weight and we will pull the exact rating for a specific truck.
Can a Super Duty come from the factory ready for a gooseneck hitch?
Yes. Ford offers factory gooseneck tow packages on Super Duty pickups, which puts the hitch hardware under the bed where it belongs. Fifth wheel hitch options depend on the build, and our Sinclair Customs team can install and set up aftermarket hitches and accessories. Ask us before you order so the truck, hitch and trailer brake setup all match what you plan to pull.
Do I need a single rear wheel or dual rear wheel Super Duty?
Single rear wheel trucks are easier to park, fit in a standard garage and drive like a daily truck. Dual rear wheels add stability, higher towing and payload ratings and better weight distribution, which matters with big gooseneck or fifth wheel loads. If your trailer sits close to a single rear wheel rating, a dually on an F-350 or F-450 gives you more room.
Which Super Duty trims are available, and is there a Tremor?
The current Super Duty pickup lineup includes XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum. The Tremor Off-Road Package adds off road tuned suspension, all terrain tires and trail focused drive modes on select builds, and the Platinum Plus package adds extras like Pro Power Onboard. Package availability changes by model and engine, so we check the order guide with you.
What does Pro Trailer Hitch Assist do on a Super Duty?
Press and hold the button and the truck steers, accelerates and brakes itself to line up with a conventional trailer for hitching. It saves the back and forth when you are alone at the farm or job site. Ford includes it in the Lariat Premium Package, and availability on other trims depends on packages, so check the window sticker for the truck you are looking at.
Can my business buy a Super Duty through Ford Pro?
Yes. Our commercial and fleet team works with Ford Pro on business pricing, fleet purchasing and commercial financing options, along with telematics and fleet management tools for companies running several trucks. Whether you need one truck for a small crew or a dozen for a fleet, bring your business details and we will walk you through programs that may apply.
Do you sell Super Duty chassis cabs and help with upfits?
We do. Super Duty chassis cab trucks come without a pickup bed so they can be fitted with flatbeds, service bodies, dump bodies and other work setups. Sinclair Customs handles upfits and accessories, and our commercial team can coordinate builds with outside body companies when needed. Tell us the job the truck needs to do and we will spec the chassis and body together.
Should I lease or finance a Super Duty?
Most Super Duty buyers finance because these trucks tow hard, rack up miles and often get hitches, racks or bodies added. Leasing can still work for lighter use or for businesses that want predictable payments and regular turnover. We work with Ford Credit and other lenders, and we can show you how X Plan, military or first responder pricing affects either option.
Will you take my old diesel or work truck in trade?
Yes. Use our online trade value tool or the text me my trade value tool for a quick starting number, then we confirm it after looking at the truck in person. High miles, a gooseneck hitch or a flatbed are not deal breakers. If you still owe money on it, we handle the payoff and apply any equity to your new Super Duty.
Does Warranty Forever cover a diesel Super Duty?
Qualifying Super Duty trucks we sell include it, and diesel owners tend to appreciate it most because powertrain repairs on a heavy duty truck are not small bills. The engine, transmission and 4×4 driveline are covered for as long as you own the truck. Diesel maintenance intervals matter here, so follow the schedule in the agreement at a licensed shop and ask us about it before your first service.
Where can I get a Power Stroke diesel serviced in South County?
Our service center on S Lindbergh Blvd works on Super Duty trucks, including Power Stroke diesels, and our commercial parts and service team stocks parts for work trucks. For select maintenance, Mobile Service sends Ford technicians to your home or job site, and Ford Pickup and Delivery can take the truck in and bring it back so your crew keeps working.
Is an F-150 enough, or do I need a Super Duty to tow a camper to the Ozarks?
It comes down to the loaded trailer weight and how often you go. Many travel trailers headed to Table Rock or Lake of the Ozarks are fine behind a properly equipped F-150. Heavier fifth wheels, toy haulers and long hilly trips on I-44 are where a Super Duty pays off with more margin. Bring your camper’s numbers and we will compare both.
How long does it take to custom order a Super Duty?
Timing depends on Ford production schedules, order bank windows and how specialized the build is, so it varies throughout the year. Ordering lets you pick the exact engine, axle, wheel setup, bed and tow packages instead of compromising on a truck in stock. We give you an expected timeline when you order and update you as the truck moves toward delivery.
